Product information "SMPS400A400"

The SMPS400 stands out as a highly efficient Safety Class 2 switch mode power supply explicitly crafted for seamless integration with our UcD™, NCORE® and NCOREx® amplifier modules. Noteworthy attributes include exceptional efficiency across the entire load spectrum, an exceptionally compact form factor, minimal weight, and remarkably low levels of both radiated and conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Distinguishing itself further, the SMPS400 incorporates advanced overcurrent protection mechanisms. In the event of a temporary overload, it intelligently diminishes the output voltage. Only when the overload persists for an extended duration does the supply transition into hiccup mode, maintaining this state until the overload resolves. This unique feature, coupled with large electrolytic buffer capacitors, empowers the supply to deliver substantial dynamic headroom power to the connected amplifier.

Moreover, the SMPS400 encompasses an auxiliary isolated supply and a control circuit seamlessly interfacing with our UcD™, NCORE® and NCOREx® amplifier modules. Activation for routine operation or disconnection during a critical fault is executed through built-in actuators, providing a reliable safeguard. From the initial design phase to the final implementation, the SMPS400 undergoes optimization to achieve the low EMI signature essential for the most demanding audio applications.

The SMPS400 is designed with a selectable input voltage range, allowing it to accommodate various power input specifications. This flexibility enhances its adaptability to different regions and power grid configurations, making it a versatile choice for international applications.

The SMPS400 complies with relevant industry standards and certifications, ensuring that it meets the highest benchmarks for quality, safety, and performance. This commitment to standards reinforces its reliability in professional audio applications. Relevant standards: The SMPS400A100, SMPS400A180 and SMPS400A400 revision 1500 and higher fulfil the requirements of: IEC60065:2014 + A11:2017, IEC62368-1:2014 + A11:2017, UL62368-1:2014 Ed.2 and CSA C22.2#62368-1:2014 Ed.2. The SMPS400 is an ETL listed component for the USA (UL62368-1:2014 Ed. 2) and Canada (CSA C22.2#62368-1:2014 Ed.2).
